The Unmani Daily Rhythm

At Unmani Yoga Retreat in Pokhara, each day follows a natural rhythm designed to balance movement and stillness, learning and rest, inner work and connection with nature. Our schedule aligns with sunrise and sunset energy, helping the body reset, the mind slow down, and awareness deepen.

This daily flow is the core structure of our retreats, with small adjustments depending on the program.

5:30 AM – Wake Up in Silence

We begin gently, without rush or noise.

  • Soft bell or light music awakening

  • Warm lemon water or herbal tea

  • Silence observed (no phones, no talking)

A quiet start allows awareness to arise naturally from sleep.

6:00 – 7:30 AM – Sunrise Yoga & Pranayama

Location: Yoga hall or outdoor mountain-view deck

Morning practice energizes the body and clears the mind.

Session includes:

  • Joint warm-ups (Pawanmuktasana series)

  • Slow, mindful Surya Namaskar

  • Classical Hatha Yoga postures

  • Pranayama (Nadi Shodhana, Kapalbhati, Bhramari)

  • Short seated stillness

Practicing at sunrise connects us with fresh prana and Himalayan nature.

7:30 – 8:00 AM – Guided Morning Meditation

A transition from movement into stillness.

  • Breath awareness

  • Mantra or guided focus

  • Silent sitting

Each day carries a theme such as gratitude, awareness, letting go, or witnessing the mind.

8:00 – 9:00 AM – Yogic Breakfast (Mindful Eating)

A nourishing vegetarian breakfast made with fresh local ingredients.

  • Light, sattvic, easy to digest

  • Silence maintained until 9:00 AM

  • Mindful eating encouraged

Food becomes part of meditation.

9:30 – 10:30 AM – Yoga Philosophy & Conscious Living

This session deepens understanding beyond physical yoga.

Topics may include:

  • The true meaning of yoga

  • Understanding the mind and emotions

  • Chakras and the energy system

  • Yogic lifestyle in modern life

  • Breath and the nervous system

Practical wisdom for daily life.

10:45 – 11:30 AM – Nature Walk or Karma Yoga

A grounding integration period.

  • Gentle nature walk around the retreat
    or

  • Mindful service (seva), such as garden care

Supports digestion and reconnects us with the earth.

12:00 – 1:00 PM – Lunch

The main meal of the day.

  • Warm vegetarian food

  • Relaxed, friendly atmosphere

  • Community connection

Nourishment for body and mind.

1:00 – 2:30 PM – Rest & Personal Time

Essential integration and relaxation.

Guests may:

  • Nap

  • Journal

  • Read

  • Sit quietly in nature

2:30 – 3:30 PM – Breathwork & Deep Relaxation

Focused on nervous system reset and emotional release.

Practices may include:

  • Yoga Nidra

  • Guided body scan

  • Therapeutic breathwork

Deep restoration and balance.

4:00 – 5:00 PM – Himalayan Sound Healing

A signature Unmani experience.

Participants lie down and receive sound immersion from:

  • Himalayan singing bowls

  • Gong vibrations

  • Chimes

  • Soft mantra tones

Healing frequencies calm the mind and rebalance the body.

5:00 – 5:30 PM – Herbal Tea Break

Refresh and gentle connection.

  • Herbal tea and light snacks

  • Relaxed sharing and conversation

5:30 – 6:30 PM – Evening Gentle Yoga

A slow grounding practice.

  • Hip and spine release

  • Supported long-held postures

  • Breath-coordinated movement
